Gender and Sexuality Studies

UCL Gender and Sexuality Studies explores the historical and contemporary challenges arising from changes in gender relations in a range of contexts. Our work provides theoretical and methodological frameworks for understanding gender, sexuality and their intersection with multiple vectors of power in social, cultural and political life.

Our research and teaching draw on the unique breadth of cross-faculty expertise for which UCL is renowned, incorporating insights from across the Arts and Humanities and Social and Historical Sciences. We offer a multidisciplinary MA (Gender, Society and Representation) and an MPhil/PhD (Gender and Sexuality Studies). We are based at the Centre for Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Inquiry (CMII), School of European Languages, Culture and Society (SELCS).
