Ayesha Ahmed awarded Comparative Literature PhD for "Making sense of responsibility in metafiction"

Ayesha Iftikhar Ahmed was awarded a PhD in Comparative Literature on 16 January 2020, for her thesis "Making sense of responsibility in metafiction".

The dissertation engages with a variety of media, with specific attention to the works of Anthony Burgess, Mohsin Hamid and László Nemes. Ayesha was supervised by Dr Florian Mussgnug and Dr Jakob Stougaard-Nielsen. The examiners agreed that Ayesha may be awarded the PhD without the need for corrections.
