The Brazilian Translation Club discusses Clodie Vasli's short story 'A mão que nos abençoa'
28 January 2020

Translation inevitably involves making substantial changes in the source text. Andy McDougall's excellent translation of Clodie Vasli's short story 'A mão que nos abençoa' was the topic of our discussions today at the Brazilian Translation Club.
"Cada despedida é como uma praia deserta sem sol, no inverno, as ondas atingindo as rochas, pássaros voando longe e vento gelado."
'Each farewell is like a deserted, sunless beach in the winter, the waves hitting the rocks, birds flying away, and icy wind.'
The next workshop will be on Tuesday 25th of February.
