Creative Spaces: Urban Culture and Marginality (Edited by Niall HD Geraghty and Adriana Laura Massidda) is an interdisciplinary exploration of the different ways in which marginal urban spaces have become privileged locations for creativity in Latin America. The essays within the collection reassess dominant theoretical notions of ‘marginality’ in the region and argue that, in contemporary society, it invariably allows for (if not leads to) the production of the new.

Discussants: Professor Gareth Jones (Latin American and Caribbean Centre, LSE) and Dr Rebecca Jarman (University of Leeds).

This event is free and hosted by the Institute of Latin American Studies and the University of London Press. Copies of the book will be available for purchase on the evening and the presentation will be followed by a wine reception.
