Phillip Souta is Head of UK Public Policy at Clifford Chance LLP. He specialises in public policy, legislative and regulatory developments that affect financial institutions and corporates in the UK and across the EU.

He has spent six months on secondment to the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), working on the joint FCA/PRA consultation paper and draft rules on improving individual accountability in the banking. He has also advised financial institutions, corporates, industry bodies and campaigning groups on UK electoral and referendum law.

Phillip is a member of Chatham House, the Bar European Group, and the Constitutional & Administrative Law Bar Association. He has appeared on programmes including BBC Newsnight, the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, Sky News, BBC Radio Five Live and has commented in publications including the New York Times, the London Times, the Financial Times, the London Evening Standard, le Monde and le Figaro.
