Lost & Found: International Transfers
Through a partnership with the Soft Power team at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and relevant in-country Embassies, brokered by European Institute Head of Policy & Partnerships Lucy Shackleton, the Lost & Found display is also transferring to a variety of cities across Europe.
Belgium
On 27 June 2024, the display featured at the UK Mission to the EU’s summer celebration, which took place at the Residence of the UK Ambassador to the EU, and this year highlighted literature and the arts to over 200 guests. The Brussels units has since been used by the UK Mission as a backdrop for a variety of public diplomacy events. On 28 March 2025, the display will feature at the Passa Porta international literature festival in Brussels, with an associated panel on city writing and how locations shape literature.
Spain
The exhibition will also appear in a variety of locations across Spain, thanks to a partnership with El Corte Ingles brokered by the British Embassy in Madrid. The Spanish display was opened by HMA Alex Ellis, UK Ambassador to Spain, at the Hay Festival Forum in Seville.

Sweden
Bespoke versions of the Lost & Found exhibition have also been created for display in Sweden. The Swedish units were on display at a recent alumni gathering in Stockholm, hosted by UCL Alumni and hosted by Prof. Geraint Rees, while more formal programming is in development in partnership with the British Embassy in Stockholm for Summer 2025 onward.
