Andrea Boltho is now Emeritus Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford, and Director of Oxford Economics. After growing up in Italy, he studied in many prestigious institutions around Europe, including the London School of Economics, the University of Paris and Oxford. He then became the head of the Growth Studies Division in the Department of Economics of the OECD, and he also served as a consultant to the World Bank and the Bank of Italy on multiple occasions. Moreover, he was a visiting researcher to the Economic Planning Agency in Tokyo in the early 1970s.

His area of expertise is international and applied macroeconomics, and he lectured on world and European economic developments to many private sector corporations, such as IBM, KPMG or Fiat. His latest studies revolve around the Eurozone and its countries, and he recently co-authored articles such as “The problems with the Eurozone” or “Germany needs high wage settlements and a serious fiscal stimulus”.
