This talk will focus on the implications of a British departure from the EU for French European policy, particularly in the areas of foreign policy, security and defence. It will consider the extent to which Brexit would change the centre of gravity on the issue of the EU’s role in the world, and the development of European defence. It will also cover the scope for continued cooperation between Britain and France in these areas.

Lord Peter Forbes Ricketts, GCMG, GCVO is a retired British senior diplomat and a life peer. He sits as a crossbencher in the House of Lords.
