Britain and Ireland have a deep-rooted and intertwined
relationship that extends far beyond the births of both nations. In the
wake of Britain's "leave" vote on EU Membership, this relationship is
presented with a complex assortment of hurdles over the coming years.
With
a 310-mile-long land border, Ireland will be the only EU country with a
direct land border with the new non-EU United Kingdom. The complexities
of the delicate peace process in Northern Ireland play a huge factor in
any deal with any prospect of border controls having a significant
impact on the republican community in Northern Ireland.
This
event is free and no ticket is required, however guests are advised to
arrive at the venue in good time to guarantee a space.
