"When European Citizens Complain". The European Network of Ombudsmen and Accountability Networks
Over recent years, decision-making has extended rapidly beyond the state, to transnational entities, notably the European Union, and shared horizontally between agencies and networks of actors from autonomous states. The consequence has been multi-level administrative action, involving a network of actors from different jurisdictions, which often has a serious impact on private citizens and commercial
enterprises.
This workshop, organised jointly between UCL Faculty of Laws and LSE Law Department, aims to explore the potential of accountability networks, namely the European Network of Ombudsmen. The workshop will consider the Network's objectives, functions and future potential whilst also discussing 'proportionate dispute resolution' over infringements of EU law.
