27 June 2011
You are warmly invited to join us for a multi-disciplinary discussion group on the future of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) on 27th June from 17.00-19.00 at the UCL School of Public Policy (Council Room).
Following on from a first successful debate held in
March 2011, the organisers will now structure the discussion into three
main topics: the democratic deficit in the EMU, issues of fiscal
policy, and the problems caused by a common monetary policy.
You can also join the online debate to post your opinion now.
Supported by the European Institute, this forum is
part of a broader project developed by a group of junior researchers at
UCL, which aims to examine
the effects of the financial and economic crisis on the EMU and
consider the way in which the Stability and Growth Pact (SGP) and
economic governance can be reformed to address the problems that have
been exposed by these interrelated crises.
Download the full invitation, or consult further details on the project on their dedicated page on the Institute's website.
