These are the last dates you need to get post/mail to the UCL Post Room if you want business-critical items to arrive before Christmas.
International Airmail
The dates below are the final posting times for Royal Mail's standard international mail and the information is from Royal Mail's Latest Posting Dates for Christmas 2024. Royal Mail will update their website in the event of any service outages or unforeseen circumstances.
Standard International Mail
Tuesday 3 December – Africa, Asia, Australia, Caribbean, Central and South America, China (People’s Republic), Far and Middle East, New Zealand.
Wednesday 5 December – Cyprus, Malta, Portugal and Spain
Thursday 5 December – Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Eastern Europe (except Czech Republic and Poland), France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Switzerland and Turkey.
Friday 6 December – Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Poland, Sweden, and USA.
Tracked and Signature Services
Friday 6 December - Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Finland, Greece, Israel, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Norway, Portugal, Romania and Sweden.
Monday 9 December - Czech Republic, Malaysia, New Zealand, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Wednesday 11 December - Austria, Denmark, India, Lithuania, Philippines, Qatar, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
Friday 13 December – Belgium, Canada, China (People's Republic), Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, South Korea, Thailand, and USA.
Monday 16 December – France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, and Taiwan.
HM Forces
British Forces Post Office parcels can be posted free of charge via the UCL Mail Service.
At time of publishing, no final dates were available for "active duty" or "static" locations
UK Mail
Wednesday 18 December - Royal Mail 2nd Class, 2nd Class Signed For.
Friday 20 December - 1st Class, 1st Class Signed For, Royal Mail Tracked 24, Royal Mail Tracked 48 and Special Delivery Guaranteed.
UCL Mail Service Closure dates
The UCL Mail Service will close at 2pm on Friday 20 December and re-open at 7am on Tuesday 3 January.
There will be no access to the Post Room between these dates.
The last collection of departmental post will take place between 11.30am and 1pm on Thursday 19 December to ensure dispatch on the last working day.

The last collection of departmental post will take place between 11.30am and 1pm on Friday 13 December to ensure dispatch on the last working day. After this date contact the Mail Services Manager if you want to check viability for arranging a bulk mailing before UCL closes for Christmas (Kevin Owen Ext 07128/ k.owen@ucl.ac.uk).
The Post Room expect a very substantial amount of additional mail in the pre-Christmas period, as Departments clear their desks for the seasonal break, creating an increase in demand on the postal service.

The UCL postal system is for UCL business only. Any items identified as private items will be retained in the post room and traced back to their owner.
