Feedback wanted: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Community of Practice

20 January 2022

One of the six pillars set out in UCL’s 20-21 Equity and Inclusion plan is to empower everyone to advance equity and inclusion. The EDI team are consulting with networks to understand if establishing an EDI Community of Practice (CoP) would help to meet this aim.

UCL has several Communities of Practice which bring together individuals who either work in a specific area or have an interest in the work of that area. These have been very successful in providing opportunities to:

  1. Personal and professional development
  2. Improve communication across UCL
  3. Identify and share best practice
  4. To collaborate and network

The CoPs operate differently depending on their members’ needs. Some events are similar. For example, lunch and learn sessions are held at various intervals, some monthly, some termly. Members of the CoP will often present these, particularly around a best practice model used in their department or in their area of expertise.
