The EDI team can offer workshops on antisemitism awareness, tailored to the needs of your area or team, and the nature and context of your work. They can be delivered in-person, hybrid, or online. The workshops are interactive and feature scenario-based exercises that are relevant to the UCL context.
The areas that are covered in the workshops include the following:
Building an understanding of Judaism and the Jewish community: customs, traditions and religious practices, and Jewish identity and the diversity of the Jewish community.
How to recognise antisemitism: the nature of antisemitism including stereotyping, scapegoating and conspiracy myths.
Understanding antisemitism in the UCL context: the challenges facing Jewish students and staff at UCL, an overview of UCL's initiatives and best practice to support students and staff, to enhance participants awareness of antisemitism and understanding of how it is addressed.
Understanding your role in tacking antisemitism and the action you can take. Scenarios and case studies explore practical ways of supporting Jewish students and staff (which may also be relevant to other religious groups) and understand how to practice effective allyship and promote support services available.
