The Magic of Materials - ACM students lead outreach experiments at St Paul's School
12 July 2016
Between July 5th and July 7th, students sofia Marchesini, Daphné Lubert-Perquel and Kate Fomcenkova from the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Advanced Characterisation of Materials (ACM) visited St Paul's School to organise an outreach programme exploring the magic of materials.
Pupils were able to test the effects of heat on different materials such as the bounce of a rubber ball. They also made ice cream from liquid nitrogen, learned how to work metal and tested defects in the make up of chocolate fudge cake, plasticene and couscous.
See ACM's webpages for further details on the work they do and on how to join the centre!
