My PhD Title:The Impact of Oral Health on Cognitive Impairment among Older Adults in England

Lay summary: Part of maintaining the general wellbeing of older population is to preserve mental health, particularly cognitive performance.  As ageing phenomenon increases, both globally and in the UK, cognitive impairment becomes more prominent as a major public health issue. Only few studies have explored longitudinally the association between oral health (OH) and cognitive impairment. The objective of my PhD study is to examine the prospective association between OH and cognitive impairment among elderly in England using data from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA).
