The UCL Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is offering a Studentship for full-time and part-time students undertaking the MSc Health Psychology. The award will commence in September 2021 and the studentship will consist of £3,750 towards tuition fees. The recipient will be expected to secure the remaining part of their tuition fees and to cover their living costs.
Candidates can originate from any country however they must be intending to enrol on the MSc in Health Psychology programme on a full-time or part-time basis.
Award of the studentship will be made on the basis of experience, qualifications and future academic potential. This will be determined based on performance during the MSc programme entry interview. All applicants to the MSc are interviewed by two members of the programme team and marked against criteria assessing academic potential, with a total of 10 points available. Students which attain the maximum number of points will be shortlisted for the award. Based on the curriculum vitae and personal statement of the shortlisted candidates, the studentship will be awarded upon the recommendation of an academic selection panel chaired by Dr Lion Shahab.
Value and duration
The value of the award is £3,750. Awards are tenable for one year of full-time study and two years (pro-rata) part-time only, commencing in 2021-22.
Terms and conditions of the award
- The studentship may be held alongside other scholarships, studentships, awards or bursaries.
- The studentship cannot be transferred to another institution, nor deferred to a later year.
- The studentship payments will only be made if the recipient is fully enrolled in the above mentioned MSc programme at UCL.
- All awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations for Scholarships, Awards, Bursaries, Prizes and medals.
There is no specific application procedure. All applicants who submit an application to the MSc Health Psychology programme by the deadline outlined below, will be considered.
Studentship Application deadline:
The deadline for submissions is 5pm on 30 July 2021 GMT.
Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Your application must be complete in order to be valid. We will not inform you whether your application has been received or whether it is complete, nor contact you for missing documents. Incomplete applications are invalid and will not be processed.
Notification of results
Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. It is expected that the whole selection process will be completed by the beginning of September 2021. Successful and reserve candidates will be notified either in writing or by email thereafter. If applicants have not been notified of their application being successful, you can assume that you were not successful on this occasion.
