HPV and head and neck cancer

This project was undertaken as part of a PhD and aimed to look at the psychosocial impact of being diagnosed with human papillomavirus (HPV) related head and neck cancer. HPV is well established as a causal factor in cervical cancer and there has been research into the psychological implications of such a diagnosis in women with cervical cancer, but as the link between HPV and head and neck cancer has only recently been established, very little psychological research has been done in this area.

This project was funded by the Medical Research Council, and was active from June 2013 to June 2016.
