Minjoung (Monica) Koo

I am a postdoctoral Research Associate in ECHO group, having recently completed my PhD titled "The presenting symptoms of cancer patients and associations with diagnostic timeliness" in 2018. 

More about my PhD:

I used data from a national cancer audit in primary care to assess the relative frequency of presenting symptoms in cancer patients and their associations with intervals before diagnosis; the findings have implications for the design and delivery of public health interventions and healthcare policies that promote the earlier diagnosis of cancer. 

My PhD was funded by the Dept of Health's Policy Research Unit and I was supervised by Professor Yoryos Lyratzopoulos (ECHO group, BSH), Dr Christian von Wagner (Cancer Communication & Screening group, BSH), and Dr Gary Abel (Exeter university).
