Biomarker identification and discovery associated with different phenotypic risk profiles: a lab-based study
This study aims to understand how internal and external environments associated with tobacco/novel nicotine products use (such as e-cigarette use) and other health behaviours come together to influence future health. This will help identify those in particular need of smoking cessation support. The study plans to collect saliva, urine and hair samples, which are easy to collect, to characterise different types of biological markers. By analyzing these samples and combining the data with information about participants’ health behaviours, we hope to identify novel markers that may be associated with future disease risk.
