30th Anniversary Event

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Whitehall II Study. To celebrate the achievements of the past 30 years, a one-day celebration event was held at UCL on Wednesday 25th November 2015.
Speakers included Professor Sir Michael Marmot who gave a history of the Whitehall II study, and Professor Anthea Tinker (KCL) who gave a talk on 'The Participants Perspective'. Presentations were also given by representatives from the three main funders of the Whitehall II study; the ESRC, BHF and MRC. Over 150 people attended including Whitehall researchers, collaborators and a representative group of participants from the Whitehall II cohort.
Some of the footage filmed during this event may be used in an upcoming documentary 'The Truth about Alcohol' which will be shown on BBC1 in 2016.
