Research Project:

Dental decay is the most common childhood disease worldwide and most of the decay remains untreated especially in developing countries. The current PhD research project will be conducted as a cross sectional observational study, aiming to assess the associations between dental caries, oral health related quality of life and height and weight among 5 to 9 year old Bangladeshi children. A secondary aim is to examine whether any associations between caries and anthropometric measurements are (partly) explained by dental pain, poor appetite and eating and sleeping difficulties.
