The Camden Trial Team is based at University College London.

Christina Avgerinou

Dr Christina Avgerinou – Clinical Safety Lead and UCL/Camden  Site Principal Investigator

Dr Christina Avgerinou is a Senior Clinical Research Associate within the Centre for Ageing Population Studies, Department of Primary Care and Population Health, UCL, and is also a General Practitioner in West London. Her research interests include frailty and nutrition in later life.

Shelley Campbell – Research Assistant

Shelley has a background as an NHS Physiotherapist, working mainly in the areas of rehabilitation and falls prevention with older people and is interested in reducing the barriers to older people taking part in research.


Amy Kerin – HomeHealth Trial Coordinator

Amy is a research administrator who helps support the co-ordination of the HomeHealth trial.


Verity Thomas - Research Assistant

Verity is a Masters student at UCL with interests in research methodology and nutrition at different points of the lifecycle.

HomeHealth Service in London

The HomeHealth service is delivered by our Team Leader, Farah, in Camden, as well as a HomeHealth worker, Alison Gabriel, who is based in Age UK Camden.

Age UK Camden

Age UK Camden is an independent charity which supports and empowers older people in the Camden Community. Age UK Camden offers a range of support services, activities and events designed to ensure older people in the community remain an active part of society. They operate two Health and Positive Living hubs in Camden, in addition to an excellent Information and Advice service and a number of befriending schemes for local residents. Farah Mahmood

Farah Mahmood – HomeHealth Team Leader (UCL)

Farah has a background in the Health and Social Care sector, working mainly with older adults. She is interested in healthy ageing, health inequalities and personalised care.

Alison Gabriel

Alison Gabriel - Age UK Camden HomeHealth worker

Alison is delighted to have joined the HomeHealth team recently. She has worked for many years in a variety of roles within Social Care, the NHS and charities & alongside her HomeHealth role continues to work as a Music Therapist within the NHS.

Alison is a keen amateur musician and singer, belonging to both an orchestra and a choir. She has many interests, but particularly enjoys trips to the theatre, practicing yoga, walking in nature, and reading.
