This study has been approved by the NHS ethics committee.
What is it about?
We are researching Black men’s views and experiences of prostate cancer ‘screening’ and treatment in order to understand why inequalities exist in prostate cancer care and how they could be addressed. Specifically, we are looking into what helps and what stops Black men to seek screening for prostate cancer, or once diagnosed, what helps Black men when receiving care.
Who would we like to speak to?
We would like to speak to primary and secondary healthcare professionals who care for patients at any time in the prostate cancer journey from initial screening, to diagnosis and management, through to remission.
We are investigating, from the perspectives of healthcare professionals, what barriers and facilitators exist for Black men when seeking prostate cancer screening or when engaging with healthcare services post-diagnosis and how these could be addressed.
What is involved?
You will be taking part in an interview online via a platform called Microsoft Teams (or face-to-face if preferred). You will receive £25 in shopping vouchers for your time.
