FR8 will launch on 06/06/2022 and close on 31/10/2022. The amount available across all awards for this funding round is £3,500,000.00 and funding decisions will be made by external funding panel.
It remains a priority of the school to facilitate collaborations and linkages with other strategic partners, in particular to include underrepresented research areas within Primary Care. Costing external collaborators at 5% FTE is the current guideline, however where there is robust justification for higher FTEs, this will be considered. Projects awarded as part of FR8 can be up to 36 months long but must finish by 31/03/2026. No extensions can be given beyond this date. Funding panel decisions will be communicated in early January and projects 36 months in duration must start no later than 01/04/2023. If recruitment of research staff is planned as part of longer projects, this should be factored into local project feasibility discussions. Particular attention should be given to including realistic project start dates.
