NIHR ARC North Thames is delighted to invite you to a showcase of research on Monday 11 September, where we demonstrate how our work is impacting the health and care of North Thames communities.

The event will celebrate the diversity of our research in many different ways, with an exciting mix of display, presentation, film, and interactive installations on offer. We invite you to drop in to connect with us over a drink and a chat, celebrate our ARC journey so far, and co-create the next steps for us, as we continue our work to meet your local priorities and service needs through our findings, tools and research capacity building opportunities.

At NIHR ARC North Thames, we are committed to involving patients, public and health, care and local authority professionals in what we do and how we communicate our findings.

Who should attend?

We invite all friends of ARC North Thames to attend, regardless of background and expertise. There will be something for everyone. The event is designed to be a drop-in, so please join and enjoy the exhibition in your own time.

Why should I attend?

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about our wide range of studies, impacts and evidence across our key theme areas: mental health, multimorbidity, population health and social care, health economics and data, and implementation science. You can also hear about how we involve others in what we do. For, example, you can meet:

  • ARC North Thames researchers
  • Laypersons who support our research as part of our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement team
  • Our Local Authority Public Health Research Network, who support robust research in local authority settings across North Thames.
  • ARC North Thames fellows, who have benefitted from our research funding schemes

We also invite you to bring your local service issues or questions to our Research Partnership Team, to use their expertise and skills, build relationships and exchange contacts. Researchers might also be able to support you to take your ideas forward or may be able to point you to existing evidence.

Finally, you can also learn about the different training opportunities available to health and care staff through the NIHR ARC North Thames Academy and the wider National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR).
