Now more than ever we need research, policies, and practice to address the wider social determinants of health to improve population health and reduce health inequities. Global institutions, national and local governments, civil society and business all have a role in improving health and reducing health inequities. The question is – how can we leverage what we know about social determinants to change the way we are governed?
To learn more join Professor Sir Michael Marmot and colleagues at the UCL Summer School: Social Determinants of Health.
The summer school is designed for everyone who wants to learn more about the social determinants of health and how evidence from this field can be translated into practical social change. It is relevant for those who already work in the field of public health and policy and who want to refresh their knowledge of population health, for those considering a career in public health or related research such as social epidemiology, and for those working in the wider fields of social and economic policy advocacy and social movements, locally, nationally and globally.
