15:00-15:20: Keynote speaker: Aaron Koay (PhD Student, UCL-Birkbeck MRC DTP - Health of the Public)

"Racial Justice in Healthcare Education"

Aaron will present key findings from a project he co-led entitled ‘Stand Up, Speak Out! Racial Justice in Healthcare Education: Experiences of Minoritised Ethnic Students'. The report articulates the lived experiences of racism in minoritised ethnic healthcare students and recommends strategies to embed racial justice in healthcare education.

15:20-16:30: Open discussion forum

We will host an open discussion with the group & break out rooms for students to share their views on racial justice, experiences within IEHC and suggestions for action.

Participants

Undergraduate, M-level and PhD students are invited.


This meeting is organised by the Anti-Racist Action Group, a subset of the Equality Action Group which is the team that facilitates equality, diversity and inclusion within IEHC and beyond.
