About

The research and education undertaken across the UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care spans the life-course, from childhood to old age.

Our vision is to understand the determinants of health & disease in populations & in patients in clinical settings, to evaluate strategies for the prevention & treatment of ill health, and to strengthen teaching and capacity in population health.

Our research 

The Institute has an internationally competitive research programme, with strong national and international interdisciplinary collaborations.

Our teaching 

We offer an extensive portfolio of educational and training programmes, including contributions to all years of the MBBS curriculum and internationally recognised undergraduate, post graduate taught and research degree programmes.

Our collaborations and partnerships: The cross-fertilisation and application of epidemiology and health care expertise at UCL is coordinated through the UCL Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care. Read more about our collaborations and partnerships around the world.

The Institute holds an Athena SWAN Charter Bronze Award in recognition of its commitment to advancing women's careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in academia.
