Salvatore is an enthusiastic and highly motivated engineer who joined UCL to study for a PhD in “Time-dependent Earthquake Risk Modelling”. His PhD project will look at incorporating the generation of the full aftershock sequence and its associated events within a catastrophe modelling framework.
Previously, he has been working in Arup (London) for nearly two years and a half as a member of the seismic and offshore team. Salvatore possesses a wide range of technical skills with a strong inclination for automation (Matlab and Python), which makes him suitable for numerous different tasks. Salvatore is incredibly diligent and hard-working, showing interest in both earthquake engineering and data science procedures. His strong analytical approach and his problem-solving attitude, along with his coding capabilities, are valuable resources to complete and automate the assigned tasks.
