Offshore wind is a vital form of electricity generation that will allow the UK is to meet its net-zero by 2050 target. Recent government policy necessitates a potential contribution of 50% to the UK’s electricity generation from offshore wind. However, quantifying the efficiency of offshore wind farms remains an important task as they are a highly intermittent from of generation.
This seminar introduces a Bayesian modelling technique for quantifying the efficiency of energy projects, allowing capacity factors to be evaluated in a robust manner.
