What is freelancing?
Freelancing can offer you the freedom to work independently and take on projects for various clients, often in a remote or flexible capacity.
It provides a unique opportunity to leverage your skills and potentially earn a higher income, while enjoying a more flexible work-life balance compared to traditional employment.
This workshop will cover the practicalities of freelancing and give you an insight into the pros and cons of this way of working.
Who it’s for
This workshop is open to students, staff and recent graduates (within 2 years of graduating).
You don't need any experience to attend.

- options and frameworks associated with freelancing
- the pros, cons and realities of running your own side-hustle or freelance business
- the steps involved in freelancing, from set up to paid clients
- pitfalls to look out for, and how to adopt an appropriate mindset
About the tutor
Matt Dowling has a decade of experience as a freelance photographer. He’s also spent 15 years leading businesses that provide crucial support to freelancers. He’s dedicated over 10,000 hours to training, mentoring and consulting professionals.
