This 2-hour interactive session will help you uncover the mindset and soft skills that entrepreneurs rely on to thrive in uncertain and fast-changing environments.
You’ll explore qualities such as resilience, adaptability, creativity, and collaboration. And you'll learn how these can be developed to support your own entrepreneurial journey - whether you want to launch a startup, apply these skills in academia, or bring entrepreneurial thinking into a large organisation.

Who it’s for
This session is open to all UCL students, staff, and alumni who graduated from UCL within the past 2 years.
You don't need any business experience or a startup idea to attend.
UCL doctoral students will receive one DocSkills training point via InkPath and the Doctoral School for completing this session.
What to expect
This is an interactive, activity-based session. You’ll take part in hands-on exercises, group discussions, and case study reviews to explore how skills, mindset, and collaboration all contribute to building a successful venture.

- which soft skills are essential for thriving in a startup environment
- how to recognise and develop traits like resilience, adaptability, and creativity
- why teamwork, collaboration, and emotional intelligence matter for entrepreneurs
- how to assess your own entrepreneurial mindset and areas for growth
- why entrepreneurial skills are valuable in any career path
- how to explore whether entrepreneurship is the right path for you

About the tutor
Dr Eloisa Angeles is an experienced venture capital professional with a deep-tech academic background and entrepreneurial leadership experience. She's worked in startups at C-level and has made investments in technology companies from seed stage to growth, spanning sectors such as enterprise software, digital platforms, consumer, agri-food, healthcare, and property technology. Eloisa is currently a Principal at a quantum venture capital fund, where she focuses on deep-tech investments at the forefront of innovation.
