Innovation & Enterprise

Making your way in innovation and enterprise at UCL

Learn about innovation and enterprise or extend your activity with this online information session for UCL staff.

Are you thinking about recruiting partners for upcoming programmes? Exploring how you might undertake consulting? Working to get the UK up and running again after COVID-19?

This session will give you an overview of common pathways, and the contacts and resources you need to move forward.

A few of the ways innovation and enterprise activity can help you include:

  • realising impact from your research, for example, improving community quality of life
  • applying your research discoveries through income-generating activity
  • developing your leadership by contributing to national and international media or policy

Who it’s for

This information session is open to all UCL staff members (academics and professional services), whether you have some experience with this activity or are just getting started.

It’s not suitable for students. Students can attend our entrepreneurship workshops and events, and doctoral students may be particularly interested in our SPERO programme.

What to expect

This session will be run online. There'll be a presentation and some short interactive elements.

We’ll present the big picture for innovation and enterprise, highlight the UCL support system and share case studies from the arts, science, technology and social sciences.

You’ll learn what to consider in undertaking activities such as consulting, commercialisation, or partnerships.

The session also touches on knowledge exchange (KE) funding, intellectual property (IP), and ethical concerns.
