Overview
This interactive 90-minute masterclass will help you establish your brand, understand your worth and build valuable business connections as you start your career.
You’ll learn to grow your professional network to create long-lasting client bases and collaborations. We’ll also explore the practicalities of running your side hustle or freelance business.
Who it’s for
This workshop is open to students, staff and recent graduates (within 2 years of graduating) with an interest in freelancing or setting up a business.
What you'll learn
This masterclass will help you:
- build and position your brand to successfully promote your work
- understand the value of proactively networking with industry and peers: how, when and where to seek out new connections
- effectively communicate with prospective clients to sustain fruitful and equitable relationships
- know your value: how to succeed in competitive marketplaces
About the tutor
Matt Dowling is a founder, entrepreneur, campaigner and speaker. As founder of the Freelancer Club, he’s created a community platform that supports freelancers through resources, skills development and job opportunities. Matt actively engages with influential change-makers, participating in panels that shape culture, legislation and the future of work. He’s Chairman of the Working Group for the Creative Self-employed. His work has been in The Guardian, The Times and The Financial Times, and he has appeared on the BBC, LBC and RTE.
