Overview

Entrepreneurship is about more than just starting a business. An entrepreneurial mindset can help you succeed whether your future career lies in academia, working for a large-scale organisation or running your own business.

In this workshop you’ll explore what entrepreneurship is, and why having an entrepreneurial mindset will help you in whatever career you choose. 

You’ll also identify and develop professional skills around motivation, organisation, sensitivity to personal values and the ability to go beyond perceived limitations. 

Who it’s for

Entrepreneurship is for everyone.

This workshop is for students, staff and recent graduates (within 2 years of graduating) who are new to entrepreneurship.

You don't need any business experience or a startup idea to attend.

What you’ll learn

This workshop will help you understand:

  • the basic terminology of entrepreneurship
  • what it means to start a business
  • the importance of having an entrepreneurial mindset and skills
  • the importance of fundraising in entrepreneurship
  • the role of innovation and technology in entrepreneurship
  • if entrepreneurship is a possible career route for you

What to expect

This is an interactive, activity-based workshop held at BaseKX, UCL’s entrepreneurship hub in King’s Cross.

You’ll take part in workshop sessions and group discussions, and explore case studies.

About the tutor

Dr Eloisa Angeles is an experienced venture capital professional with entrepreneurial experience and a deep-tech academic background. She’s worked as an investor and consultant in technology companies in various sectors including enterprise software, digital platforms, consumer, agri-food, healthcare and property technology.
