Overview
In the crowded freelance market, your brand is what sets you apart and attracts the right clients. But effective branding doesn’t happen by accident - it’s intentional and strategic.
This 90-minute workshop will explore the foundational elements of building a strong freelance brand and the critical role marketing plays in growing your business.
You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of why creating a clear brand identity early on can save you time and effort in the long run, allowing you to focus on doing the work you love and connecting with clients who value what you do.
Who it’s for
This workshop is open to students, staff and recent graduates (within 2 years of graduating) who are in the early stages of their freelancing journey or just keen to learn more.
What to expect
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and collaborative exercises, you’ll explore:
- what makes a memorable brand
- how to communicate your unique value
- which marketing approaches work best for freelancers.
What you'll learn
This workshop will help you:
- Recognise the key elements of a strong freelance brand: Understand what makes a brand compelling, from visual identity to messaging, and how these elements shape client perception.
- Identify effective marketing strategies for freelancers: Gain insights into marketing channels, content strategies, and the types of marketing efforts that are most impactful at different stages of a freelance career.
- Understand the relationship between branding and long-term success: Explore how a well-defined brand can make your marketing efforts more efficient, build credibility, and create a lasting impression on potential clients.
About the tutor
Ramat Tejani is a multi-award-winning marketing strategist, TEDx speaker, community builder and storyteller who also happens to be a woman in tech. She’s Chief Encouragement Officer at The Inspiration Box, a consultancy dedicated to encouraging self-mastery and intentional personal development. As Strategic Partnerships Lead for EMEA at Google, she drives initiatives to diversify the talent pipeline through thoughtful engagements.
