Overview
This free 3-hour workshop will help you identify your entrepreneurial purpose and what you can uniquely bring to the world of business or social enterprise.
You’ll learn about purpose-driven entrepreneurship and how you can make a positive impact on the world by turning society’s biggest challenges into opportunities for positive change.
Who it’s for
This workshop is for students, staff and recent graduates (within 3 years of graduating) who are new to social enterprise and purpose-driven entrepreneurship.
You don't need any experience or a startup idea.
What to expect
This is an interactive, activity-based workshop held at BaseKX, UCL’s entrepreneurship hub in King’s Cross.
You’ll take part in workshop sessions and group discussions, and explore case studies.
What you’ll learn
This workshop will help you understand:
- the basic terminology of entrepreneurship
- how to turn society’s biggest challenges into opportunities for positive change
- how money can be made through positive social impact
- the importance of aligning the business model with your purpose
- how the for-profit sector can be transformed
- if entrepreneurship is a possible career route for you
About the tutor
Peter Ptashko FRSA has over 10 years’ experience working in social enterprise globally. He launched his first venture in 2005, raising £25,000 in only 7 hours. Since then, he’s worked for UnLtd, a UK foundation for social entrepreneurs, supporting thousands of social entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. He's also an independent entrepreneurship change management consultant and holds a series of leadership and board-level positions across the public and private sectors.
