The media can help you recruit, celebrate your successes and raise your profile.

This free one-hour workshop lifts the lid on how to get your business in print, on radio and broadcast on TV.

Award-winning journalist Mary Murtagh will explain what journalists want and the ingredients for a killer press release. She'll also share some insider secrets.

This event is being run by the Women in Enterprise Network. The network aims to bring business women together, to create a community to connect with, share business ideas and explore best practice.

Who it’s for

This event is for anyone interested in setting up their own business, social enterprise or voluntary community-centred organisation.

You could be a UCL student, alumni or staff member, or someone who lives or works in London. You don't need to be a member of the Women in Enterprise Network to attend.

What to expect

During this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • how media coverage can impact your bottom line by introducing you to new customers and clients
  • how to put together a killer press release using Mary’s ‘top ten tips for press releases’

 You'll also have a chance to ask questions of a real live working journalist.

About the speaker

Mary Murtagh is an award-winning news reporter, video journalist, media trainer, copywriter and PR. With 15 years’ experience of working in newsrooms across the UK and US, she now runs her own successful business, Mary Murtagh Media.

Every year Mary helps thousands of SMEs, startups and social enterprises get millions of pounds worth of free publicity in print, radio and television coverage. Through freelance PR and workshops, she shares her media insider knowledge with anyone who needs to put their best foot forward with the media.
