This one-day workshop will help you recognise and use your entrepreneurial skills to heighten the impact of your research and think about future career paths.

Even if you don’t have entrepreneurial ambitions, this workshop will help you reframe the skills you're developing during your PhD.

It'll focus on the fundamentals of developing an entrepreneurial mind-set and exploring value creation.

What to expect

The day will be very practical, with a number of personal and interactive exercises.

You’ll be taken, step-by-step, from initial idea to validation and pitch deck, with templates and real life examples.

It will help you to:

  • develop your own entrepreneurial thinking
  • start to recognise and use your entrepreneurial skills
  • generate and develop enterprising ideas using tools such as the business model canvas

By the end of the workshop, you'll be better able to:

  • develop ideas that create value and make a difference to others
  • identify the relationships needed with relevant stakeholders to move an idea forward more smoothly
  • set goals to progress your enterprising activity

Who it’s for

This workshop is for PhD students from the UCL, Bloomsbury and East London Doctoral Training Partnership (UBEL DTP).

You don't need any prior business experience to attend. You don't need to be an aspiring entrepreneur or already have a business idea.
