UCL Enterprise welcomes new Corporate Partnerships Manager
4 April 2014
UCL Enterprise has welcomed Jim Collins as its new Corporate Partnerships Manager for Arts & Humanities, Laws, and Social & Historical Sciences (SLASH).
In a new role for the division, Jim will join the now four strong Corporate Partnerships team under the direction of Dr Anna Clark. The role has been created in tandem with a Corporate Partnerships Manager for the Built Environment, Engineering and Maths and Physical Sciences (BEAMS), for which Dr Michael Morris was recruited last year.
The aim of both roles is to identify and support long term strategic partnerships with external partners, generating research opportunities for academics in parallel to increasing the impact of their research on wider society.
Jim joins UCL from the Institute of Education (IOE), where he was Publishing Director of IOE Press. Jim established and built the IOE’s university press from scratch, commissioning and growing a portfolio of print and digital products with a focus on education, social research and social justice, in addition to growing the press through acquisition of another publishing company.
“UCL has an excellent reputation for world-leading research and what it already contributes to society is incredible,” says Jim. “I'm really excited about working with the academic community in SLASH and to bringing them together with a range of partners in the UK and internationally; enabling research and generating greater impact”.
