The aim of this priority is to accelerate UCL’s routes to knowledge exchange, innovation and impact.
At the heart of UCL’s research and innovation are the partnerships cultivated and grown across the university. Through investing in and supporting these collaborative engagements between external partners and the UCL community, we can deliver scalable change in response to external priorities in a transformational way.
Driving institutional ambition

We will benefit from UCL’s unique shape and scale, harnessing our multidisciplinary expertise and transdisciplinary strengths, including the newly expanded Grand Challenges Programme, to bring internal and external expertise together to enhance knowledge exchange.
This will deliver innovation and impact support across and between the disciplines that will enable rapid assistance to deliver novel solutions to pressing issues.
Leveraging strategic relationships

We will develop and strengthen our core, strategic partnerships across industry, health, government, charities and community-based organisations.
By leveraging UCL’s major funding partnerships and investing in institution-wide relationships, we will maximise opportunities for innovation, research and embedded learning and development.
This will deliver breadth and depth of engagement, amplifying benefits to the institution and our partners through an ongoing exchange of knowledge, resource and expertise.
Developing our collaborative pipeline

We will encourage the development and testing of innovative approaches to collaboration, providing safe, supportive internal frameworks to explore new ideas.
We will build on existing, and grow bold new external collaborations through diverse mechanisms, including seed funding, network building and provide support for scaling and accelerating projects and partnerships.
This will empower the UCL community to nurture activity across charity, third sector, social enterprise and SMEs, and increase engagement with the public and local and business communities.
