UCL Knowledge Exchange and Innovation Strategy (2024-2029)

This 5-year strategy sets out our ambition to grow and strengthen UCL’s knowledge exchange and innovation ecosystems to maximise economic and societal impact.

UCL is at the forefront of innovative thinking and new knowledge, developing our research excellence in collaboration with our partners and wider community.

Today, as the world rapidly changes around us, UCL is using its unique position to mobilise, translate and apply research and knowledge that makes a tangible impact on pressing global issues.

Our ambition


This new strategy sets out our ambition to grow and strengthen UCL’s knowledge exchange and innovation ecosystems to maximise economic and societal impact.

We'll do this by: 

  • accelerating activity to address society’s greatest challenges, delivering impact from our research and expertise through commercialisation, partnerships and engagement more broadly.
  • championing the UK’s drive for innovation-led growth from the university sector, by strengthening our activities across business, government and public sector engagement.
  • empowering UCL’s community of students, graduates, researchers and professional services and technical staff to drive knowledge exchange activities, developing impactful leaders whose actions will transform lives, the economy and our future.
