University of Warsaw

The University of Warsaw, established in 1816, is Poland's largest and finest University. University of Warsaw is the most active Polish organisation in terms of EC contribution granted to the FP7 research projects according to the EC report "Innovation Union Competitiveness Report 2011". The University has received 7% of a total amount granted by European Commission to research projects in Poland. The Centre for Forensic Science of the Warsaw University (CNS) was established in 2007 is a cross-faculty Centre bringing together Law, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology (participation of the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics is expected in the near future). Its scholars have participated in several high-profile security projects commissioned by, notably, the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Polish National Police and the Internal Security Agency of the Republic of Poland.
