We’re passionate about Engineering and Education. We believe that there’s a need for a new conversation about how we attract and nurture engineering talent. It’s a big challenge which will require partnerships between educators, professional bodies and industry.
Engineering covers an incredibly broad – and expanding – range of activities, so it is vital to tap and develop a broad range of talent. We are therefore interested in not only supporting developments in primary and secondary education and but also how to create a better articulation between the vocational (FE and apprenticeship) and HE routes into engineering, as well as working with companies to address their changing skill needs. Coupled with the expertise of the IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education, Practice and Society, the Centre aims to be a driving force in Re-imagining Engineering Education.
The Centre for Engineering Education is heavily involved in the running and dissemination of UCL Engineering's Integrated Engineering Programme (IEP), a pedagogical framework by which undergraduate students study using innovative, cross-disciplinary methods. Find out more on our website.
