Marie Dorn, an EngD candidate in Biochemical Engineering, was awarded the ACTIP Fellowship Award 2025 for her research titled “Development of a high-throughput cell clone screening method for intensified cell culture processes.
The Advanced Cell Technology Industrial Platform (ACTIP) is a non-profit association of European companies and institutions focused on the industrial application of advanced cell technologies in the development and manufacturing of biotherapeutics, including antibodies, proteins, vaccines, and cell and gene therapies.
The ACTIP Fellowship Award recognises talented early-career scientists working on research projects of industrial relevance, spanning biomanufacturing, bioprocesses, expression systems, cell lines, gene and cell therapies, assays, and bioinformatics. Through the Fellowship, recipients are invited to participate in ACTIP’s scientific meetings, offering a platform for exchange and collaboration with leading industrial stakeholders.
Marie was recognised for her doctoral research, carried out under the supervision of Dr Martina Micheletti and in collaboration with AstraZeneca, which focuses on developing scalable and automatable approaches for early-stage process development and cell line screening.
“I am honoured to receive the ACTIP Fellowship Award for my research on high-throughput cell clone screening for intensified processes.
This recognition highlights the importance of our work at UCL Biochemical Engineering and the strong interest it generates across the bioprocessing industry.”
