The £ 10,000 award will fund work jointly led by Pedro that will be performed under the supervision of Dr Stephen Goldrick and leading clinicians at UCL to advance the next generation of cell therapy manufacturing.
Pedro’s project will develop an adaptive, AI-ready biomanufacturing platform to produce CAR-T therapies. By integrating real-time sensing and automated process control, the platform aims to improve consistency, reduce costs, and lay the foundation for AI-driven manufacturing. The project has already garnered the support of industry leaders, including Getinge, Fujifilm, and Repligen, underscoring its potential for real-world application and long-term impact.
