Studying engineering at UCL

The experience of studying engineering at UCL can translate into incredible careers in anything from robotics to space travel. Engineers also enjoy career stability and an impressive earning potential

Learning engineering at UCL is about teaching you how to think, not what to think. This is something that attracts students to UCL Engineering from far and wide, and that’s why we incorporate this ethos into the Engineering Foundation Year too. As such, your study experience will include plenty of hands-on activities to help you understand how you could solve real world problems through our Integrated Engineering Programme model. Supported by the knowledge base you will acquire through this programme, and the extra wraparound guidance you will receive, you will gain skills from this programme that you could apply to many workplaces and future careers.

The Engineering Foundation Year is the first step on your journey towards becoming an engineer in the field of your choosing. UCL Engineering graduates are recognised as some of the most talented and well paid across the world, progressing into a variety of sectors and workplaces. The field of engineering offers true diversity, and careers can span from robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), to skyscraper design and satellite construction, plus much more.

UCL East

The base of the Engineering Foundation Year is the UCL East campus, a brand-new purpose-built campus in the prestigious location of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
