Establishing a Competencies Framework for Infrastructure Policy Professionals
What specific competencies and types of expertise are required from infrastructure policy professionals as they address complex global challenges?
The infrastructure sector faces multiple challenges to respond to climate change and global environmental risks, improve livelihoods and support the recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there is limited guidance on the specific competencies and types of expertise required from infrastructure policy professionals as they address these complex challenges.

This project addresses this gap through intensive engagement activities with experienced professionals across public, private and third sector organisations and academic researchers, which will gather and synthesise insights on the essential competencies, skills and knowledge for infrastructure policy professionals. This knowledge and the resulting ‘Competencies Framework’ will provide a project key output with the potential to directly inform practice, education across higher education and workplace training.
