Our events bring together researchers, founders, industry professionals, and policymakers to test ideas, not just discuss them. We design our own programme and support partners across the wider ecosystem where our research, networks, or challenge framing can add real value.

From roundtables to innovation sprints, every event is built around the same question: what happens after the room empties? Partnerships formed, pilots started, research applied, that’s the measure we work to.

What We Deliver

Curated discussions built on research collaboration synergy, academia bringing rigorous methodology and original thinking, industry bringing real-world data, resources, and the pathways to scale. Together they surface new perspectives, test assumptions, and help ideas move from theory into action.

Workshops and ecosystem meet-ups

Working sessions on emerging challenges across AI, climate, sustainability, data, and the built environment, bringing diverse stakeholders together to find concrete points of collaboration.

Applied hackathons and innovation sprints

Hackathons are how CSRI turns emerging technology and industry challenges into applied thought leadership, researchers, founders, students, policymakers, and industry partners working side by side to prototype real solutions and open pathways to pilots and partnerships.

Featured Events and Ecosystem Engagement

Alongside our own programme, we actively support and participate in events led by partners across the AI, built environment, climate, and innovation communities.

UCL CSRI x Bartlett BSSC — January 2025

Supported the launch of an industry working group and the CBEDS centre initiative, bringing built environment and data specialists together to shape a shared research agenda. Followed by a second working session in early 2026 to track progress and refine priorities.

UCL CSRI x OSCRE — March 2026

Brought industry leaders together to examine how data standards and AI are reshaping digital infrastructure across real estate and asset management, surfacing practical next steps for adoption.

UCL AI Ball — March 2026

UCL CSRI sponsored and supported the inaugural UCL AI Ball, bringing together postgraduate students, researchers, founders, and industry leaders from across London’s AI ecosystem to explore AI’s practical applications in healthcare, robotics, climate, and the built environment.

Run as part of a wider programme of AI activity at UCL including the UCL AI Festival, and supported by organisations including CogStack and Naboo, the Ball reflected UCL’s role connecting AI research with real-world industry engagement.

UCL CSRI x Data Clan — May 2026

A workshop and roundtable on emerging opportunities in data and AI, with UCL’s Innovation & Enterprise team and BSI represented, connecting policy, research, and industry perspectives in one room.
